Mojo Alumni Spotlight: Kali Heivilin Shares Her College Softball Journey

Last night, we kicked off our Mojo Alumni Zoom Series with University of Alabama senior Kali Heivilin, who offered valuable insights into her journey as a Division I student-athlete. During the engaging session, Kali shared her experiences transitioning from Mojo to collegiate softball and offered advice for aspiring college athletes.

As a Kinesiology major with a focus on Exercise Science, Kali discussed balancing the demands of academics with her athletic commitments, including early morning workout sessions and maintaining peak performance through proper nutrition and recovery. She emphasized the importance of utilizing available resources, particularly in areas like rehabilitation and injury prevention.

One of the evening’s highlights was Kali’s candid discussion about team dynamics and personal growth. She stressed the significance of managing teammate relationships professionally and leaving personal conflicts off the field. Her perspective on avoiding burnout through multi-sport participation during development years provided valuable insights for our younger players.

Looking ahead, Kali is preparing for Alabama’s upcoming season opener. While focusing on her senior year, she’s also planning for her future, exploring opportunities in medical device sales after graduation.

We’re grateful to Kali for taking the time to connect with our Mojo family and share her experiences. Her journey from Mojo to competing at the highest level of collegiate softball serves as an inspiration to our current players.
