Sierra Romero Partners with Mojo: Revolutionizing Softball Training

Last week, we had the incredible opportunity to host a virtual meeting with softball legend Sierra Romero, a 4-time All-American from the University of Michigan and the 2016 Player of the Year. Sierra joined us to discuss her groundbreaking 32 Approach app and a potential partnership with our Mojo softball program.

Meet Sierra Romero

Sierra comes from an athletic family and has established herself as one of softball’s elite players. Currently playing professionally, she’s channeling her expertise and passion into something that could change the game for developing players everywhere.

The 32 Approach App: Elite Training Made Accessible

Sierra co-founded the 32 Approach app with her trainer, Thomas Summers, to provide affordable, high-quality training to softball players of all levels. The app offers comprehensive training programs including:

  • Pitching sessions led by expert Paisley
  • Catching instruction from Paige Halstead
  • Speed and agility workouts
  • Strength and conditioning routines
  • Game day primers
  • Mental approach sessions

What makes this app stand out is its detailed video instructions that guide players through each drill and exercise. Sierra emphasized that structured routines and consistency are the keys to success—principles that have defined her own stellar career.

Building the Mojo Community Within 32 Approach

We’re excited to announce that Sierra is considering creating a dedicated Mojo section within the 32 Approach app! This would provide our players with customized content while connecting them to the broader softball community.

To make this happen, we need at least 30 Mojo players to sign up. If you’re interested, please contact your head coach for a special discount code (not to be shared publicly).

What’s Coming Next

Sierra shared some exciting developments on the horizon:

  • A free camp for all app users, reinforcing the community aspect
  • Potential addition of slapping instruction, possibly featuring Aaliyah Andrews
  • Plans to incorporate outfield instruction
  • Exploring nutrition suggestions without imposing strict diets

Sierra’s Advice for Young Athletes

When asked about her journey from good to great, Sierra highlighted:

  • The importance of competitiveness and leadership skills
  • Building confidence both on and off the field
  • Adapting leadership styles to different teammates
  • For physical development, focusing on coordination before adding weights
  • Recommended starting weight training around age 10-12 (though she’ll confirm this with Thomas Summers)

She also emphasized the mental aspect of the game, advising young players to avoid comparing themselves to others and to practice positive self-talk. As Sierra put it, learning to love practice—where mistakes don’t have consequences—is essential for growth.

The Impact of the NCAA Transfer Portal

Sierra also shared insights on how the NCAA transfer portal is affecting travel ball. Colleges are increasingly recruiting from the portal rather than offering scholarships to high school players, making player development even more crucial. The 32 Approach app aims to help players improve their skills and stand out in this competitive landscape.

Get Involved!

We’re thrilled about this potential partnership and encourage all Mojo players and parents to consider joining the 32 Approach community. Your feedback on desired features or improvements for the app is also welcome!

For questions about the app, college recruiting, or softball development, Sierra has generously offered to be a resource for our community.

Stay tuned for more updates as this exciting partnership develops!

Mojo Softball is committed to providing our players with the best training resources available. This partnership with Sierra Romero and the 32 Approach app represents our ongoing dedication to player development and community building.
